The Apple Vision Pro is tipped to go on sale in late January or early February

We know the Apple Vision Pro will be available to buy soon, but we don't know when exactly that's going to happen – though a new tip from a well-placed source suggests we've not got all that much longer to wait.

Well-respected Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo (via 9to5Mac) suggests that the headset is going to be available to consumers in “late January or early February” of 2024, matching up with Apple's own announcement that it would be available “early next year”.

You're going to have to set aside $ 3,499 for the Apple Vision Pro – which works out as £2,756 or AU$ 5,140 with a straight currency conversion, although Apple is unlikely to set international prices based on the current exchange rates.

Kuo, who is usually a reliable source of Apple information, goes on to say that the Vision Pro is “the most important product” for Apple in 2024 (something we've already emphasized), and that shipments in the next 12 months are expected to hit 500,000 units.

In-store sales

Pretty much every Apple journalist and analyst in the industry has had a go at predicting when the mixed reality headset will be available to buy. Most recently, Bloomberg suggested that late January is indeed when devices will start shipping to consumers.

Besides getting the hardware ready, Apple also wants to see a variety of developers launching apps for the Vision Pro right from the start. That will of course encourage more people to part with the necessary cash for the gadget.

We have seen how spatial video will look on the headset – that's video recorded with 3D elements embedded into it – and it has a real chance of becoming the 'killer app' for the Vision Pro, the main reason why the majority of consumers go ahead and pick one up.

Other leaks have suggested just how Apple is going to sell this expensive piece of hardware in its own stores – and the rumor is that you might have to actually visit a store in order to get your hands on one of the Vision Pro headsets.

TouchBistro Inc point of sale (POS) review

TouchBistro Inc. is an all-in-one mobile Point of Sale (POS) and restaurant management system that helps to streamline the running of your restaurant.

It often comes up in conversations about the best POS systems for restaurants, thanks to its ease of use. Although, some online reviews suggest that it might not be quite as good as it appears at first glance.

In the rest of this TouchBistro review, we analyze every aspect of this company to help you determine if it’s a viable option for your next restaurant POS solution. We evaluate TouchBistro prices, main features, user interface and support, plus more, so you don’t have to.

TouchBistro POS plans and pricing

POS software licenses start at $ 69 per month (Image credit: TouchBistro)

How much does TouchBistro cost? Good question! Expect to pay into triple figures each month to get the best from TouchBistro's restaurant management systems.

The TouchBistro website provides a small amount of pricing information, but there isn’t nearly as much transparency as we would have liked to see. According to the company’s website, POS licenses start from just $ 69 per month, which is comparable to the entry-level plans of most other companies.

This includes:

  • Various menu management
  • Table management
  • Analytics tools
  • 24/7/365 customer service support

Unfortunately, though, there’s no readily available information about what higher-end plans are available or what they include.

Add-ons

There are various TouchBistro POS add-ons, shown below.

TouchBistro Inc POS pricing add-ons
Add-on Cost
Online ordering From $ 50/month
Reservations From $ 229/month
Gift card support From $ 25/month
Loyalty From $ 99/month
Self-serve kiosk From $ 69/month
Digital Menu Boards From $ 20/month
Kitchen Display System Hardware costs only
Customer Facing Display Hardware costs only

On top of this, you can expect to pay some sort of card processing and/or transaction fees. However, these will vary according to your country/region, and the TouchBistro website provides no information about exactly what you will pay.

How does TouchBistro's POS system work?

TouchBistro POS software

Is TouchBistro POS cloud-based? Yes, partly. Although their software is hosted through an on-site server, the data in the POS application is stored in the cloud. Not only does this mean you can continue with customer sales without an internet connection, it  also allows you to access company data from any browser.

The user interface itself is quite attractive and functional, if a little clunky. There are various add-on integrations available, including a kitchen display system, a self-ordering kiosk display, and a customer-facing display.

TouchBistro POS hardware

TouchBistro uses an iPad-based system that’s designed for ease of use and flexibility. Getting started is quite simple, and, in many cases, you'll be able to access professional technical assistance to ensure you’re up and running as soon as possible.

Small businesses will benefit from a streamlined single-iPad POS system, suitable when you have one terminal to take payments and manage orders. Medium-sized systems with up to five iPads can be used with a sixth iPad acting as the central terminal, for seated table transactions.

Larger systems can be custom-built with a more powerful computer as the central hub, allowing you to connect as many mobile devices as required.

TouchBistro POS features and services

Like most restaurant-specific POS systems, TouchBistro offers a range of features designed to help you maximize occupancy, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

✓ TouchBistro table management tool

One of our favorite features is TouchBistro’s table management tool. Sure, this isn’t unique by design, but it does let you create a unique floor plan that mirrors your restaurant to make order management easier everyday.

✓ TouchBistro Tableside ordering and payment

TouchBistro’s tableside ordering and payment tools stand out as excellent. Each feature provides staff with everything they need to maximize order value, ensure accurate order placement, and process payments fast and flexibly.

✓ TouchBistro analytics and reporting

There’s nothing worse than being forced to make important business decisions without knowing what you should be doing. TouchBistro POS systems assist you in making informed business decisions, by providing a range of powerful reports and in-depth analytics.

✓ TouchBistro's staff management and scheduling tools

Save time and simplify the scheduling process with TouchBistro's in-built tools. Easily create new rosters with the click of a button, track employee working hours and labor costs, and communicate directly with employees if there are any concerns.

✓ Inventory management

Calculate basic stock inventory at speed and monitor beverage costs with ease, thanks to TouchBistro's user-friendly inventory management feature.

✓ TouchBistro application integration

From WorldPay to Xero, 7shifts and QuickBooks, TouchBistro POS systems easily integrate with many of the restaurant industry's favourite applications.

✓ TouchBistro's Kitchen Display System (KDS)

With real-time performance feedback, order accuracy improvement and communication transparency between back of house and front of house staff, TouchBistro's KDS is one not to miss. Your team can minimise human errors and optimise every order without a blink: TouchBistro's POS will do the thinking for you!

TouchBistro POS support and customer care

Contact Us

There are various self-help resources, but reports suggest that things might not be as good as they appear (Image credit: Oatawa / Shutterstock)

TouchBistro provides a a great range of support services, including multinational phone support and email service through its online contact form. They also have local offices in the United States, Canada, the UK, and Mexico, which have their own local phone numbers and contact information.

So, wherever you are, help is easy to reach anytime. And we do literally mean anytime: you can contact TouchBistro 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year.

From the very start of your experience with TouchBistro you are supported. Their “one-box POS solution” is can be setup fast so you can start using your POS system straight away. If you prefer in-person help, they can also delegate an expert installation specialists to assist you remotely.

Their online self-help resources are plentiful too, and available through the Support & Training centre. There, you'll find various setup tutorials and user guides. There are even useful videos detailing specific actions.

However, online customer reports don’t paint a mixed picture of TouchBistro’s support and post-sales customer care. The company receives a commendable rating of 4.2/5 stars (from 308 reviews) on Capterra, but its customer service rating is slightly lower at 3.9/5.

A large proportion of reviews touch on poor customer care and support services, which is a major concern.

TouchBistro's POS competition

TouchBistro has the hospitality industry pretty well covered when it comes to point of sale systems. They cater for every business from the humble food truck to the fancy fine dining restaurant.

However, if you’re looking for a higher-rated restaurant POS service provider, we’d recommend checking out Upserve POS. Its software prices start from $ 59 per month, it uses a very flexible system, and its customer service is reported to be excellent.

Another great option is Square POS, which offers flexible POS services tailored to various industries. It doesn’t charge any monthly software fees, but you will be hit with 2.6% + 10c transaction fees.

Final verdict

All things considered, TouchBistro provides excellent restaurant POS solutions. Its customer service receives poor online ratings, but reports suggest that this is largely because its agents are slow and response times can be long.

At the end of the day, the company’s feature-rich software, competitive prices, and simple setup process more than outweigh these negatives. We’d recommend checking out TouchBistro if you’re looking for a powerful, customizable, data-driven POS program that’s designed specifically for restaurants.

Pick up a cheap Apple Watch in the latest Amazon Apple sale this weekend

Whether you're looking for a bargain or the latest, shiniest smartwatch, we've found Apple Watch deals worthy of your consideration thanks to the latest Apple sales from Amazon US and UK.

In the US you can pick up an Apple Watch Series 3 for just $ 179 (was $ 199) right now. This is the cheapest we've ever seen a new (non-refurbished) Apple Watch deal go for and it's a perfect opportunity to grab your first Apple Watch for cheap. The Series 3 may be a little bit older, but it's still a great smartwatch and features all the latest Apple iOS software and apps so you're still getting all the sleep, activity, and fitness tracking you'd expect from an Apple Watch.

If you did want a brand new shiny Apple Watch though, there's also this fantastic $ 100 off discount on a Series 5 for just $ 329 (was $ 429) at the moment. These brand new Apple Watches feature a more slimline chassis, an upgraded processor, and a bigger screen, making them slightly slicker overall when compared to the Series 3, although you're definitely paying more for that extra style.

In the UK? We've also found some great Apple Watch deals on sale at Amazon this weekend, including a new Series 3 for just £195 and this new Series 5 for just £419. This rugged smartphone has a massive 10,000mAh battery and it’s on sale right now

The presence of a large battery in a modern smartphone often means you'll have to compromise on other features; but not so with the Oukitel WP6. You've probably never heard of the brand, but we reviewed one of its rugged smartphones back in 2018 (the WP2) if you want to get a feel for the devices.

The WP6 is available in both orange and black for $ 213.59 (£243.99/AU$ 443.78) at AliExpress. Despite its entry-level status, it sports some rather high-end features, such as 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage.

It also boasts a 6.3-inch display with a 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution, which is higher than most laptops.

Another notable feature is its massive 10,000mAh battery – one of the largest we’ve seen in a rugged smartphone. With an 18W charger, you should be able to fill it up fairly quickly, and you can also use the WP6 as an emergency portable battery charger if you get caught short.

It also features an eight-core Mediatek Helio P70 CPU, 48-megapixel Sony camera sensor, IP68 rating, 16-megapixel front facing camera and Android 9.0.

It's worth noting, the device doesn't support wireless charging nor NFC, and we wouldn’t count on Oukitel to provide more than one Android update.

If you're after an alternative, the Blackview BV9100 has an even bigger battery (13000mAh) and NFC, but costs more and has a significantly inferior set of components (slower CPU, a third less memory, half the storage, and a lesser camera sensor).

Bear in mind

  • If this product comes from mainland China, it will take at least a month to reach either the US or UK (and potentially more). You may be levied a tax either directly or through the courier.
  • If you've managed to get hold of a cheaper product with equivalent specifications, in stock and brand new, let us know and we'll tip our hat to you.

Motorola Razr finally goes on sale in India today

Motorola’s much-anticipated Razr foldable made its comeback to the market a few months ago and was launched in India. However, the phone never went on sale due to the nation-wide lockdown. After about two months of the launch, the Motorola Razr foldable phone is finally set to go on sale in India starting today.

Motorola Razr Price and offers

Priced at Rs 1,24,999, the Motorola Razr will go on sale in India via Flipkart. It is available in the noir black colour variant. Originally, the Razr was set to go on sale in India from April 2. But, Motorola had to postpone due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The sale was then pushed to April 15 and again to May 6. Due to the lockdown extension, the company once again postponed the sale, and finally, the phone is going on sale in India today. Deliveries are likely to be slow or delayed in most parts of the country.

As far as offers are concerned, there is Rs 10,000 cashback when you purchase the Motorola Razr using Citibank credit and debit cards.

Motorola Razr specs

The Motorola Razr comes with a clamshell design similar to the original Razr. It offers a 6.2-inch pOLED primary 21:9 display when unfolded. It has a 2,142 x 876 pixels resolution with a notch cutout on the top. When folded, the Razr offers a 2.7-inch OLED display on the front.

The second screen can be used to quickly glance through the notifications. It is also touch-enabled and allows you to see, respond, and move on. The handset lacks the 3.5mm headphone jack and therefore comes with Type-C Razr earbuds in the box.

Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor and Adreno 616 GPU. It is packed with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. To power all the internals, it houses a 2510 mAh that supports 15W TurboPower via Type-C. The fingerprint scanner is present at the front of the device and can be used even when the phone is folded.

The Motorola Razr sports a 16MP rear with ToF 3D depth sensor, dual-LED flash, and gyroscope-based EIS. There is a 5MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The device is running on Android 9 Pie and is also splash-proof with water-resistant nanocoating.

Other features of the device include bottom-firing speaker, Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi 2.4 + 5GHz, and A-GPS, LTEPP, SUPL, GLONASS, Galileo for navigation.

Best Buy MacBook deals: Save up to $1,100 in latest flash sale

Finding a cheap MacBook deal is no easy task. Apple has historically pitched its line of luxury laptops way above the competition with a premium price tag only a few will ever max out. That said, Best Buy's latest flash sales are offering over $ 1,000 in savings with 2019 MacBook deals, helping turn that Apple-stamped powerhouse into a reality.

We're seeing a selection of MacBook Air and Pro models in these deals, with each one sitting at a slightly different position in terms of power and price. You'll find skinny, streamlined MacBook Air deals that offer the perfect portable laptop for study and light work priced as low as $ 949.99 right now. But we're really excited about this 15-inch MacBook Pro bursting with top of the range specs and a $ 1,100 discount down to just $ 2,699.99

That's fantastic news if you've been saving for a brand new luxury computer, and even better if you weren't quite meeting the price tag yet. We're listing our top picks from Best Buy's flash sale, but you'll find more MacBook deals below our highlights as well as a handy guide if you're not sure which model to splash the cash on.

Not in the US? Scroll down to find the best MacBook deals in your country.

Today's best Apple MacBook deals

Which MacBook deal is right for you?

A cheap MacBook deal is still a MacBook, and Apple's laptops rarely lose their value. That's great news for purchasers – your computer will hold its price tag for a long time after you buy it after all. But that does mean you'll need to be sure you're picking up the MacBook deal to suit you.

So which MacBook deal is right for you? As with any laptop, finding the perfect model comes down to what you envision yourself using the computer for. There's no point in spending over $ 2,000 on a top of the range MacBook Pro with a 1TB SSD and 32GB of RAM if you're just going to be surfing the net. On the other hand, it's equally frustrating to spend $ 949 on the cheapest MacBook Air deal on offer today only to find that you would have been able to store all the programs you need by spending just $ 150 more.

We'd recommend picking up a MacBook Air model if you're using your new laptop for web browsing, light work, and study. If you're going to be running heavier programs like the Adobe suite or Logic Pro you'll want to take a look at higher processing and RAM options in the MacBook Pro.

Still on the hunt? We've rounded up all the latest MacBook Air sales and MacBook Pro prices from a range of your favorite retailers. We're also making things even cheaper with a selection of refurbished MacBook deals to keep costs down further.
