India is the biggest adopter of digital wallet apps

The adoption of fintech applications including digital wallets is booming in the Asia Pacific region, according to a new study by Rapyd, a global Fintech as a Service company.

The survey said digital wallets are particularly taking off for personal transactions, such as personal repayments from family or friends, rebates, and sale of personal goods or services.

Across the seven markets studied, India was found to the biggest adopter of digital wallet apps for both business-to-business (B2B) and P2P transactions, recording the highest usage rates.

Rapyd surveyed 3,500 online consumers in the Asia Pacific region (India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand) in March and April 2020, found that consumers across the region are rapidly embracing mobile fintech apps, with 77.6% of Indians, 77% of Malaysians, 70% of Indonesians, and 66% of Thai, having used a digital wallet app over the past month.

The survey respondents were identified as household decision-makers aged 18-64 across a full spectrum of income levels and asked questions around banking and payment preferences, behaviours, and concerns.

The survey, which contrasted attitudes between different countries, is a sign of where they are on their digital payments journeys. The report also found that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to global payouts. Every country is unique in its preferences and digital leaders must be prepared to localize their payout experiences to drive beneficiary loyalty and engagement.

The survey, however, threw up some interesting info about India: Indian users who are self-employed and work on a contract basis received payments more via wallets than cash or bank transfers. Around 33.5% of Indians chose this as their preferred option.

India is the only country that picked e-wallets as an option for transferring remittances. The possible reason is that the cost of remittances remain high in India.

The Rapyd Survey

Indians value data safety

Most interestingly, India cared more about keeping its data and private information safe than any other Southeast Asian country.

The survey said that 82% of Indians, 75% of Malaysians and Indonesians, and 68% of Singaporeans cited keeping personal information safe as the most important attribute of receiving payments.

The Reserve Bank of India, India's Central bank, would be happy to know of this as it has mandated a mechanism for all companies to store data in India, much to the chagrin of international tech giants and credit card networks.

Their insistence on safety and security reflects the mood of the Indians.

Overall, the study reflects remarkable buoyancy in the finance app industry which has seen staggering growth in global adoption, from 16% in 2015 to 64% in 2019.

Motorola’s much-anticipated Razr foldable made its comeback to the market a few months ago and was launched in India. However, the phone never went on sale due to the nation-wide lockdown. After about two months of the launch, the Motorola Razr foldable phone is finally set to go on sale in India starting today.

Motorola Razr Price and offers

Priced at Rs 1,24,999, the Motorola Razr will go on sale in India via Flipkart. It is available in the noir black colour variant. Originally, the Razr was set to go on sale in India from April 2. Due to the lockdown extension, the company once again postponed the sale, and finally, the phone is going on sale in India today. Deliveries are likely to be slow or delayed in most parts of the country.

As far as offers are concerned, there is Rs 10,000 cashback when you purchase the Motorola Razr using Citibank credit and debit cards.

India vs South Africa live stream: how to watch the 1st ODI from anywhere

After the Men In Blue got whitewashed by New Zealand in their last ODI series, will they take out their frustrations on the Proteas? You can watch all the cricket action of this ODI series, no matter where you are in the world, by following our India vs South Africa live stream guide below.

Now back on home turf, India now face a South Africa side that are on a high after a hugely impressive 3-0 series win over Australia.

India have a major boost, though, with the return of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya – a key trio that have each recovered from injuries that kept them out against New Zealand. Meanwhile, the South African batting line up is bolstered by the return of Faf du Plessis.

The last time these two teams met in an ODI series was back in 2018, with India thrashing South Africa 5-1, but it seems unlikely this series will be a similalyr one-sided affair.

The Coronavirus crisis has placed this series under threat, but with heavy rain expected throughout, the weather could prove a bigger danger to play being halted. Follow the instructions below to find out how to grab an India vs South Africa live stream from pretty much anywhere on Earth.

New Zealand vs India live stream: how to watch 2nd ODI 2020 cricket match from anywhere

With India on the rampage, hosts New Zealand will be looking to make amends in this three-match ODI cricket series – and that's exactly what they did in the first game to go 1-0 up. Don't miss a moment more of the action with our New Zealand vs India ODI series live stream guide.

This series marks New Zealand's first ODI action since their painful Super Over defeat in the World Cup final to England last year, and their record 348 run chase in the week showed just why they were so impressive in that tournament.

India showed that their injury worries are a real problem with Rohit Sharma set for a spell on the sidelines with a calf injury, adding to the loss of the equally influential Shikhar Dhawan. Despite missing those key players, India are clear favourites to continue their rampant form though, and will have added motivation as they look to avenge their Cricket World Cup semi-final defeat to New Zealand in Manchester last year. A 2-1 series victory is what they'll now be seeking.

Follow the instructions below to find out how to grab a New Zealand vs India live stream from pretty much anywhere on Earth.

POCO X2 confirmed to launch on February 4 in India

POCO X2 is officially the successor to the POCO F1, the company announced on Monday. Xiaomi recently revealed that POCO now functions as an independent entity with dedicated teams for production and marketing.

After the massive success of the POCO F1 which was launched in India in August 2018, the company didn't announce a successor until today. The social media handles of POCO shared the announcement with a link to its website. While the on-paper specifications of the POCO X2 have been kept under wraps, here's what the website reveals about it.

POCO X2: What to expect

POCO X2 was earlier spotted on Geekbench and its scores were very similar to the Redmi K30 lending some credibility to the argument that Xiaomi could announced the Redmi K30 as the POCO X2 in India.

The website states that the phone will have an "extreme refresh rate" for a great gaming experience, a versatile camera setup, Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, liquid cool solution and an efficient battery life.

As for the Redmi K30, it features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 playback. It is powered by Snapdragon 730G with Adreno 618 GPU and is paired with upto 8GB RAM and 256GB storage with an option to increase the storage by upto 256GB using microSD card.

The 64MP quad camera setup on the back consists of a primary 64MP sensor with an f/1.9, 8MP ultrawide angle lens, 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there are two selfie cameras– 20MP and 2MP depth sensor, housed within the dual punch-hole screen.

The fingerprint sensor is placed on the side and the phone has a 4,500mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging.

New Zealand vs India live stream: how to watch 2nd T20 cricket match 2020 from anywhere

India's cricket fixture list just never seems to let up – and neither do their victories! They''re back on the road and battling out a five-match T20 series against New Zealand. To make sure you don't miss a single six or wicket, we've put together this guide to getting a New Zealand vs India live stream from pretty much anywhere in the world.

New Zealand came into this five-match series looking to bounce back after a 3-0 test thrashing to great rivals Australia and a Super Over loss to England in their last T20I. But visitors India chased down a 203 target with relative ease in the first T20 of the series.

Despite having to contend with a lengthy injury list, the Blackcaps still boast a strong squad, but will their second string be enough to knock a rampart India off their stride? Key players Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson, along with Tom Latham and Matt Henry are all missing for the hosts, but there's a recall for paceman Hamish Bennett. Another plus for the Blackcaps will be the return of Kane Williamson who will lead the side after missing out on the series against England.

While not as severe as their opponents, India have their own injury problems, with Ishant Sharma set to miss the series after turning his ankle. Mohammed Shami comes into the bolster the bowling attack, but otherwise its a largely unchanged Indian side from the one that saw them ease past Sri Lanka in their last T20 outing at the start of the year.

Follow the instructions below to find out how to grab a New Zealand vs India live stream from pretty much anywhere on Earth.
